Back to skincare as that’s the main reason I started this blog.
So I think I may have found an alternative, cheaper replica than the Pixi Glow Tonic which is The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution.. but before we just say yeah it’s cheaper and better let’s break it down a little..
This is basically the holy grail for exfoliating, extracting the outer layer of dead cells exposing brighter and fresher skin. Now both the Pixi Glow Tonic and The Ordinary contain Glycolic Acid however Pixi Glow Tonic contains 5% at a ph of 4.1 whilst The Ordinary contains 7% at a ph of roughly 3.5.. hmm.
This simply means that although The Ordinary is more effective, it can be more irritating to the skin.
Aloe Vera is something which can be found in a lot of products these days, this is because Aloe Vera does provide soothing context.
How does The Pixi Glow Tonic compared to The Ordinary Glycolic 7% Toning Solution?
Since purchasing the Pixi Glow Tonic early last month, it has really been one of my go-to products that I cling to. (Here’s my review, if you haven’t seen it already).
But since hearing rumours that The Ordinary Glycolic 7% Toning Solution May be a dupe, you know I had to dip my hand in and give it a try.
BUT HOW DO THE TWO COMPARE?!
In comparison, the Pixi Glow Tonic costs £18 for 250ml, making it £7.20 per 100ml and the 100ml bottles is £10. On the other hand, The Ordinary Toning Solution is £6.80, making it £2.83 per 100ml (lol maths aye!). Imagine the excitement in my face when I heard there was a dupe!
Glycolic Acid, Percentage?!
The Pixi Glow only contains 5% of Glycolic Acid whilst The Ordinary Glycolic 7% Toning Solution has ahh yes, 7%. With the difference only being 2% it doesn’t sound like a lot, but in terms of the quality of the 2% makes just that bit difference with The Ordinary.
Have you tried either or let me know down below.
See you lovely people in my next post.
