Festive Foundation Fever: Estèe Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation – Review

So if you’ve been following my blog post for some time you’ll know I fell in love with Estèe Lauder foundation right before I switched to my Giorgio Armani Lumious Silk Foundation. Yes I absolutely loved this product but sometimes you need to drop a product to pick another one up and that’s what happened here. But lately, especially in the winter months, I’ve found myself drawn back to Estée Lauder. So here is a short review on the foundation.

This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity and nonstop activity. It feels lightweight and comfortable and won’t change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.

Features

24-hour staying power

Natural, Semi-Matte Finish

Medium Coverage

Contains SPF 10

Coverage: This foundation is medium to full coverage and this is something that i 100% would agree that it offers. It’s not too thick but then again it’s certainly not too runny, this foundation is perfect in my opinion, offers the perfect base for your makeup. The only downside of this product is that it doesn’t have a pump, therefore meaning you have to pour the product, which honestly is a recipe for a mess.

Finish: As this foundation is oil free it will naturally leave your skin feeling a little dry, so to avoid this I ensure I use a primer and moisturiser which is hydrating for my skin, leave this for 5/10 minutes before applying with a damp beauty blender as I feel this gives it a more natural finish.

Staying Power: This foundation is said to have a staying power of up to 24 hours, (initially when I first saw this I laughed!). I’ve never worn makeup for 24 hours but what I can say is for the 13 hours where I did wear it, it stayed completely intact.

Shade Range: Now this foundation, comes in 56 shades – which is quite a lot?! But just because foundations come in different shades doesn’t mean it’s suited to all undertones. As you may know my undertone is yellow (Click here to read more) so finding my shade was fairly simple. I simply asked a beauty adviser to assist me in finding my shade, we swatched a couple and finally settled for 6W1 – Sandalwood. Once you know your undertone things become that much easier.

Price/Availability: I purchased this product from the John Lewis not too far from where I live and it retailed for £28.47 and this is the amount I purchased it for. In terms of searching for this foundation I did have to do a little running around ad most of the stores which retailed this product didn’t have my shade available. But I soon realised I could’ve checked this online before searching. With that being said this foundation can be purchased at any House of Fraser, Fenwick, Debenhams store – but obviously pricing may vary.

Have any of you lovelies tried this foundation? If so, what’s your thoughts?

Thank you for reading! Possibly the last review before Christmas but I will be back before then! But please feel free to email me with any questions.
